I’ve been getting a lot of samples in the mail lately…some of them hiking related, a lot of them not. But, I always like to read product reviews online before dishing out the cash to buy a new product that may or may not be worth the money…so I’ll be reviewing quite a few new products in the coming weeks…hopefully you’ll appreciate my honest candor.
Just a quick note…some of the samples I asked for, others I was just sent and a few I was sent specifically to write a review about. Besides the product I receive no compensation and my opinions are no way influenced by the companies that send me the samples…it’s all my 100% unedited opinions. (P.S. If you want to send me products (or books…I like books) to review, just send me a message and we’ll coordinate). So…without further ado…my first product review.
Quaker Oatmeal Squares Cereal. (I had the brown sugar flavor)
I loved this cereal, personally. I had it both ways, with milk and without and found that it was tasty either way. This is a very dense cereal and I was scared it’d be over fibery like a lot of similar cereals (shredded wheat, I’m looking at you), but it wasn’t! I definitely had the “touch of sweetness” touted on the box and for that I was thankful. It was just a touch and not overly sweat (frosted shredded wheat…looking at you). Was a great on the go breakfast when I wasn’t able to take time to sit down with a bowl of milk. Throw some in a container and hit the road, easy to eat while driving (not that I’m saying you should eat and drive, but let’s face it…most mornings we’re all doing it).
The next morning I had it with milk and found that it stood up well without getting overly soggy. In fact, the middle never really got soggy (maybe I just ate it too fast cause it was so yummy??).
Anywhoo…I highly recommend this product!! It is kinda expensive at about $4.69 a box (that was at my local Kroger), but no worse than most other brand name cereal.
